Verapaz Bridge construction in Ghent: Safe's Poly shoring system in action with DENYS

New construction of the Verapaz Bridge in Ghent, Belgium

Scafom-rux group member Safe Benelux is building the new Verapaz bridge over the Handelsdok in Ghent, Belgium, on behalf of Denys NV. In fact, the project consists of the construction of two bridges: the North bridge shown in our project video, which will be followed by the South bridge.

Named after former Belgian colony in Guatemala that was once supplied by ships from Ghent, the Verapaz bridge aims to enhance connectivity with two lanes in each direction. In addition, the separated cycle paths and added greenery along the Handelsdok serve for a safer and more sustainable urban environment.

Safe Benelux used its proven Poly shoring system with many steel profiles to construct the structure both on the quayside and across the Handelsdok. The engineering, delivery, assembly and dismantling of the structure, including the application of the deck formwork, was carried out entirely by Safe Benelux.
