What to keep in mind when returning rented scaffolding material

Sometimes you’re planning a project which requires special scaffolding parts you only need once. Or the order quantity is particularly high and you need to stock up on scaffolding material for a short period of time. For these cases and more, Scafom-rux offers you flexible scaffold rental.

The rental process is explained quite simply. Click the link to learn more about it. Basically, you can use your rental material just like your own. The only major difference is that you can return it at the end of the project. Therefore, you should always keep an eye on the condition of the material. You can read more about what you should pay attention to when returning your rental equipment here.

1. Make sure that the scaffolding material is clean

Cleaning your scaffold material regularly is a crucial part of proper scaffold maintenance. This also goes to rented scaffold material that you return to your scaffold supplier at the end of your project. Only when material is clean you can be sure that there are no damages or trapped moisture hidden under dirt.

The cleaning can also be done by our team in one of our Scafom-rux scaffold rental yards. A cleaning fee will then be charged.

2. Check whether the scaffolding material has been properly dismantled

Individual parts of your rented scaffolding material should be separated from one another before you return them. This avoids damages to the material during transport and speeds up unloading and sorting.

Elements like bolts, base jacks, ledgers or else should be removed from the standards before you return them.
Returning properly dismanltled scaffolding material like this helps to speed up the return process and avoids damages.

3. Stack the scaffolding material for transport properly

For a smooth return process of your scaffolding material it is particularly important that the material has been stacked properly during transport. In addition to the already mentioned complete dismantling of individual scaffolding parts, returning the scaffold material in bundles speeds up the unloading process. Make sure that the bundles of material can be easily transported with forklifts e.g. by placing them on palettes.

Scaffolding material that has been stacked like this is easy to pick up with forklifts. This speeds up the unloading time when you return your rented scaffolding material.

4. Check whether the scaffolding material has any defects

Things can get a bit rough on the construction site and it's hard to avoid the occasional breakage. If you notice damage to your rented scaffolding material, it's best to sort it out directly so that you don't have to transport it back unnecessarily at the end of the rental period. In such a case, simply let us know and we will clarify everything further.

Scaffold rental is particularly easy and keeps you flexible. If you return the scaffolding equipment at the end of the rental period as described here, you will help us to make the return process even smoother for you.

Of course, it can still happen that the scaffolding material is not returned in an ideal condition. That's why next week's blog will contain an overview of typical mistakes you can avoid.
